Where have the clothes come from for this show?
Lady Macbeth has several beautiful gowns which are all being made for her. The majority of the other costumes have been assembled from army surplus and vintage stores, various military websites, costume hire and the British high street. These are then all being altered to fit the actor, changed to suit the design and then customized with different buttons and trims, often dyeing and breaking down the fabric to age it and then layering all the garments to give a complete costume. We still work very closely with the original costume drawings when buying existing garments and always go back to the design when deciding upon proportion and trim. Its always very exciting when you find an existing garment that looks just like the drawing!
